WITH JESUS DURING THE DAY
Let Us Cultivate Compassionate Gazes
During this afternoon’s pause, let us pray that priests may find restorative rest for their weariness within their communities. Are we a source of rest for others?
“We need to exchange glances full of care and compassion, learning from Jesus who looked upon the apostles in this way, without demanding a roadmap dictated by the criteria of efficiency, but rather offering care and rest. Thus, when the apostles returned from their mission, enthusiastic but tired, the Master said to them: ‘Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.’ (Mk 6:31)” (Francis)
Together, we pray the prayer of the month.
