For the first time in 50 years, two students from the same Aboriginal Nation have received the Francis Xavier Conaci Scholarship in the same year. Hayden Atkins and Tanisha Sonter, both from the Dharug Nation in New South Wales, are now in Rome representing their ancient culture on the world stage. This milestone coincides with the 50th anniversary of NAIDOC Week, a celebration of Indigenous voices and traditions. The students see their journey as a way to break down barriers and inspire future generations of First Nations youth to achieve their dreams.
