Cardinal Charles Maung Bo of Myanmar addressed an international conference in Rome, calling for nonviolence to become a new framework for legitimate defence in the Catholic Church. Speaking at the gathering hosted by the Catholic Institute for Nonviolence, he stressed that nonviolent strategies offer an effective response to global conflicts and should be placed at the heart of Catholic life and teaching.
