Israeli military attacks have intensified in Gaza, killing and wounding dozens of Palestinians. Over 1,100 have died since the October 2025 ceasefire. The UN documented at least 57 deaths in one week, including six children and eight women, many outside the Israeli-imposed zone. Thameen Al-Kheetan, a spokesperson for the U.N. human rights office, said many of the recent fatalities occurred far from the Israeli military's shifting yellow line of control. Additionally, 283 women and children were confirmed killed from October to mid-April. Health authorities in Gaza reported a sharp rise in miscarriages, with 4,000 cases in early 2026 due to harsh living conditions, including fear, poor roads, and lack of medical care.
