Anna Medeossi has become the first woman in the world to serve as rector of a shrine, taking charge of Notre-Dame de Santa Cruz in Oran, Algeria. Originally arriving as an architect for renovation work, she now lives at the site as a consecrated virgin. The shrine is primarily visited by Muslims, serving as a significant place of dialogue, encounter, and peaceful coexistence.
