In 1985, the Sisters of Charity of St. Charles Borromeo arrived in Tanzania from the Netherlands, answering a call to serve through love and hospitality. Recognizing the need for a place of silence and spiritual renewal, they opened the St. Carolus Retreat Centre in Tengeru, Arusha, in 2017. Today, the centre welcomes guests from around the world for retreats, seminars, and rest. Through gardening, livestock, and warm welcome, the sisters create a home away from home where every visitor can encounter God.
