After an image of Our Lady on Apparition Hill was defaced and the outdoor altar of St. James Church set alight, the Medjugorje parish condemned the vandalism. It urged the faithful to respond with prayer, fasting, and forgiveness, praying for the conversion of those responsible. Police arrested a suspect. Investigators are working to establish the motive. The shrine remains open to pilgrims.
