Archbishop Tesfaye Tadesse Gebresilasie has been installed as the new Archbishop of Addis Ababa at the Nativity Catholic Cathedral on September 6, 2026. He succeeds Cardinal Berhaneyesus, who served for nearly 27 years.

The installation ceremony was presided over by Cardinal Berhaneyesus Demerew Souraphiel and featured a message from Pope Leo XIV. Archbishop Tesfaselassie pledged to lead the local Church in Ethiopia in the love of Christ.
