UNESCO convenes the fifth World Kiswahili Language Day on 6-7 July at its Paris headquarters. The theme is Kiswahili for Peace, Solidarity and Global Economic Diplomacy. As a neutral lingua franca, Kiswahili bridges ethnic divides and fosters regional integration across Africa. Experts say it is a powerful tool for peacebuilding and intercultural dialogue. Translation in Swahili will be available throughout the programme. High-level stakeholders and community representatives participate in conferences, exhibitions, and exchanges.
