Monthly day of prayer for mental health
Replace fury with dialogue
Today is the monthly day of prayer for mental health. This month the Pope prays for disarmament and peace.
Today’s Gospel reading talks about how people were filled with so much fury that they drove Jesus out of town and wanted to violently hurl him down a hill.
Fury between nations leads to the buildup of arms and the threat of war. This creates deep fear and harms mental health across generations.
Peace and mental health are inseparable. We pray that dialogue and diplomacy, instead of fury and violence, guides world leaders and leads to disarmament and peace.
We conclude with the Offering Prayer...
