Listen Before Judging
Give thanks for this new day and for the opportunity to listen with an open heart.
Among those arguing about who Jesus really was, Nicodemus raises his voice: “Does our law condemn a man without first hearing him and finding out what he is doing?” (Jn 7:51)
Remember Nicodemus’ lesson: before judging, we must listen. Reflect on how many divisions, conflicts, and even wars arise because we refuse to listen to one another. Peace begins when you choose dialogue instead of hasty condemnation, when you seek to understand before acting.
Ask yourself: What situations or people today are asking you to truly listen before forming an opinion or taking action? How can you be an instrument of dialogue where conflict exists?
