WITH JESUS DURING THE DAY
Do Not Make Performance an Absolute
In the midst of the day, we find stillness and bring our hearts back into your presence, Lord.
“Fair competition has a profoundly human and communal dimension: it does not divide, but unites; it does not make the result an absolute, but recognizes the value of the journey to reach it; it does not idolize performance, but recognizes the dignity of those who participate.” (Pope Leo)
How do these words resonate in our hearts?
In this month’s prayer, we ask that sports promote values such as respect, solidarity, and personal growth.
