WITH JESUS DURING THE DAY
Goodness Triumphs
Turn your thoughts and heart to the Lord with confidence.
"The Te Deum we raise to the Lord this evening, at the end of the calendar year, is a hymn of thanksgiving that opens with praise — ‘We praise you, God, we proclaim you Lord’ — and ends with a profession of trust — ‘You are our hope, we shall not be confounded forever’. Whatever the course of the year may have been, easy or difficult, barren or fruitful, we give thanks to God. The Te Deum, in fact, contains a profound wisdom, the wisdom that makes us say that, despite everything, there is good in the world, and this good is destined to triumph thanks to God, the God of Jesus Christ, incarnate, dead, and risen" (Pope Benedict XVI).
Entrust to the Lord all those who have suffered and continue to suffer from war this year. Ask Him to grant peace — His peace — and to give new hope to desperate hearts.
