Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has ordered an immediate and effective response to any threat from enemies without geographical limits. The order followed reports that Iran struck an unmanned surface vessel east of the Strait of Hormuz and that violating oil tankers caught fire. Meanwhile, a Qatari delegation arrived in Tehran for regional talks following reports of a letter from US vice president J.D. Vance aimed at restarting peace negotiations. UN Trade and Development warned that shipping disruptions through the strait and Red Sea are increasing freight, fuel, and food costs.
