The US military has completed a heavy wave of air strikes against Iran in retaliation for attempted ballistic missile attacks on American forces and Iranian strikes on US bases in Jordan and vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. Dozens of targets belonging to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were hit, and Iranian state radio reported three people killed, including a two-year-old child. The strikes come after a ceasefire collapsed in June, and as the conflict widens with joint US-Saudi operations in Iraq. Pakistan continues diplomatic efforts to ease tensions, calling on both sides to return to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
