Today, celebrate the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple. You are invited to
contemplate Jesus, โa light to enlighten the nations,โ according to Simeonโs testimony.
โFor my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the presence of all
peoples: a light to enlighten the nations and the glory of your people Israelโ (Lk 2:30โ
32).
St. John Paul II explained: โWhat Simeon says appears as a second announcement
made to Mary, because it shows her the concrete historical dimension in which her
Son will fulfill his mission: in misunderstanding and suffering.โ
This morning, offer your desire to be, in turn, like Jesusโa light for the worldโand
pray the prayer of offering.
