WITH JESUS IN THE MORNING
Tuesday of the Octave of Easter
Begin the day by cherishing the joy of the Resurrection: “Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, ‘I have seen the Lord,’ and what he told her.” (Jn 20:11–18)
Remember that the Lord has fulfilled His word; He has raised to life what was dead: “Thus ends, in the peace of the Sabbath and the beauty of a garden, the dramatic struggle between darkness and light unleashed by the betrayal, arrest, abandonment, condemnation, humiliation, and murder of the Son who, ‘having loved his own who were in the world, loved them to the end’ (Jn 13:1). Cultivating and tending the garden is the original task (cf. Gen 2:15) that Jesus brought to completion.” (Pope Leo XIV)
Pray for the grace to live as one who is risen, without clinging to death.
