WITH JESUS DURING THE DAY
Shared Responsibility
Lord, I set aside this time to listen to you. Through the words of Pope Francis in the encyclical Laudato Si, you urge us to care for our common home. A particular concern this month is water.
“Water is being wasted not only in developed countries, but also in less developed countries that possess vast reserves. This shows that the water problem is partly an educational and cultural issue, because there is no awareness of the seriousness of these behaviors in a context of great inequality.” (Laudato Si, 30).
I pray the prayer of the month, asking that we understand our shared responsibility for the just and sustainable management of water and that future generations may be protectors of the earth’s resources.
