WITH JESUS DURING THE DAY
During the day with the Lord
On this day of the Lord, I pause to lift my thoughts to Him.
I join the Pope in his focus for this month: the respect and protection of human life
Enough already with the display of force! Enough already with war! True strength is manifested in service to life. St. John XXIII, with evangelical simplicity, wrote that peace benefits everyone, โthat is, every person, every household, every people, the entire human family.โ And, echoing the forceful words of Pius XII, he added: โNothing is lost with peace; everything can be lost with warโ (Encyclical Letter Pacem in Terris, 116). Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. May I work for the care of my brothers and sisters, here on this earth, while โwe groan in anticipation of being made children of God and our bodies being set freeโ (Rom 8:23).
