WITH JESUS DURING THE DAY
Healing Invisible Wounds
I pause for a moment in your presence, Lord, to gather my thoughts and pray once again for this month’s intention. I take an honest look at my attitude: Have I been able to provide spiritual support to those experiencing psychological suffering? Have I been there for those who needed me?
“We must urgently turn our attention to people’s mental health, particularly that of young people, because the invisible wounds of the soul are no less burdensome than those that are visible.” (Pope Leo XIV).
The human heart is restless and bereft. Priests, too—like each one of us—face mental health challenges that can lead to great difficulties.
I pray the prayer of the month so that pastoral care for mental health may flourish throughout the Church and help overcome exclusion.
