WITH JESUS IN THE MORNING
Saints Joachim and Anne
‘The kingdom of heaven is like a hidden treasure’
On this Sunday, the feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus, we will keep our elderly in our thoughts, for it is thanks to them that we have inherited the faith.
In the Gospel, Jesus teaches us through two parables to leave everything behind in order to choose the Kingdom. The constant question is whether we are capable of leaving everything behind to follow this path.
The question is whether we want to commit ourselves to building the Kingdom and, today, to defending the dignity of life, especially that of the elderly, who are often abandoned by their families and by the state.
I offer my daily offering prayer with the elderly in mind, and I pray for the Pope’s intention for this month.
