At the opening of the 12th Plenary Assembly of the Federation of Asian Bishops' Conferences in Jakarta, Bishop Antonius Subianto Bunjamin, president of the Indonesian bishops' conference, called on the Asian Church to become a listening Church. He said authentic synodality begins by listening to God, one another, and the voices of people on the margins. The assembly is a sacred moment to listen to the Holy Spirit and to one another, strengthening communion and deepening synodal conversion. Traditional dances from Indonesia's rich culture welcomed delegates, reflecting the diversity of Asia.
