The 12th Plenary Assembly of the Federation of Asian Bishops' Conferences opened in Jakarta, gathering over 120 cardinals and bishops for a week of prayer and reflection on the Church's mission in Asia. Under the theme of synodal conversion and bridge-building, participants are exploring how local Churches can deepen dialogue and reconciliation in diverse contexts. Leaders emphasized that building bridges, not walls, is the Christian response to challenges. The Assembly will conclude with a Eucharist and a symbolic walk through the Friendship Tunnel, highlighting interreligious harmony.
