Pope Leo XIV prayed the Angelus from Castel Gandolfo, where he is taking a summer break. Reflecting on the Parable of the Sower, he reminded the faithful that God never ceases to believe in us. The Pope said God's Word has the power to transform every heart, even the most hardened soil. He encouraged Christians to make space this summer for silence, prayer, and meditation on Scripture. God's confidence in humanity, he explained, is rooted in His intimate knowledge of every person and the potential for good within each soul. When welcomed with humility, God's Word bears the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The Pope urged believers to use their summer rest to nurture their spiritual lives and return ready to proclaim the Gospel.
