The sixth edition of the Zanzibar Cup kitesurfing race and regatta is set for 23 August 2026 in the Tanzanian archipelago. Organized by Italian doctor Stefano Conte and the Tanzanian government, the event promotes sportsmanship while strengthening fraternity and fellowship among peoples of diverse nations.
Conte came to Zanzibar in 2010 for a working holiday, offering free medical care and pursuing kitesurfing. The inaugural event in January 2024 attracted around 20 competitors and a single sponsor; the race welcomes 40–50 athletes and 10–15 sponsors.
Inspired by Pope Francis and Pope Leo XIV, Conte shapes the event around peace, fraternity, respect and solidarity. The motto: One for all, all for one.
