WITH JESUS IN THE MORNING
Mary’s Intercession
This morning I come before You, Lord, inspired by the love of our Mother, who always remained faithful to You.
Today’s Gospel reminds us: “When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, ‘Woman, here is your son.’ Then he said to the disciple, ‘Here is your mother’” (Jn 19:25–27). I contemplate our Sorrowful Mother, remaining faithful, standing beside her suffering Son on the cross.
Virgin of Sorrows, may your heart—pierced by a mother’s grief—contemplate the pain of all mothers who suffer, the tears of the afflicted, and the hope of those seeking comfort; and may I know how to accompany them just as the Beloved Disciple accompanied you.
I conclude with today’s offering prayer.
