WITH JESUS DURING THE DAY
Consuming Without Wasting
This afternoon reflect on your consumption habits and hold them up to the Lord’s light, thinking of those who go hungry.
Francis did not believe that the solution to hunger was to reduce the birth rate; he asserted that this "…is a false solution when one considers the level of food waste and the consumption patterns that squander so many resources". If food were treated with care, it could reach everyone.
Today commit to measuring portions, storing cooked food properly, and setting aside what you can share or donate before it goes bad.
Pray that the major systems may change: less speculation and more justice.
Conclude with the monthly prayer. Amen.
