WITH JESUS IN THE MORNING
Here Comes the Bridegroom
On this day when the Church celebrates Augustine of Hippo, the liturgy presents us with the Gospel of the ten virgins who go out to meet the bridegroom: only five of them had brought extra oil. I can imagine this scene and ask myself which group I belong to. โStay awake, then, for you know neither the day nor the hour.โ (Mt 25:1โ13)
I can take up the words of St. Augustine to speak to the Lord, the bridegroom of the parable: โYou have made us for Yourself, Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You.โ
I offer Him my day and entrust to Him the intention for the evangelization of cities through my monthly prayer...
