WITH JESUS DURING THE DAY
A Grateful Response
Halfway through this last day of September, I pause to pray with renewed commitment once again for the care of water.
Joining Pope Leo XIV, who has asked us to “pray for the just and sustainable management of water, a vital resource, so that all may have equitable access to it,” I give thanks to the Creator because water, too, is a symbol of His grace and love.
I ask for forgiveness for having turned it into a commodity,
forgetting that it is a universal gift, a right without borders, intended for all His children.
Lord, grant me the grace to care for water as a sign of love for You and a commitment to the lives of the poorest. Amen.
