WITH JESUS IN THE MORNING
Contributor to Your Mission
Lord, here I am; I place myself in Your presence with complete openness, so that You may strengthen me with Your Word and lead me to bring to life my desire to follow You.
Today’s Gospel tells us: “As they were walking along the road, someone said to him, ‘I will follow you wherever you go.’ Jesus replied, ‘Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head’ (Lk 9:57–62). Thank you, Lord, for calling me to follow you, for I know that this desire to follow you is the fruit of your loving work within me, which moves me to be a contributor to your mission—a mission in which you promise me not comfort, but the cross and surrender.
Lord, grant me the grace that on this day I may follow you as you want me to follow you.
I offer you this last day of September, committing myself to the care of water.
