Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, visited Taybeh, the last remaining Christian village in Palestine, on the Feast of the Assumption. He encouraged the community to remain rooted in faith and hope despite difficult circumstances, and stressed that guarding the heart against fear is essential to preserving the Christian presence. The visit followed an Israeli order declaring the area of Taybeh and Rimon a closed military zone, raising concerns about access. The Cardinal said the people’s example is important so that the Church can continue to be a Christian voice amid this very complex situation.
