Ceuta Church strengthens support amid migration emergency - Vatican News

Sarah Davis · · News about the Church
The Diocese of Cádiz and Ceuta has responded to the migration emergency in Ceuta, where about 60,000 migrants arrived from Morocco in the past 24 hours, according to Ceuta's President, and at least 34 migrants died attempting the crossing. The diocese offered cooperation to public authorities and will devote this weekend's parish collections to the migrants' most urgent needs.

Spanish authorities deployed Armed Forces, while many unaccompanied minors are among those who arrived. The diocese invited Christian communities to intensify prayers for all those suffering and for everyone working to build paths of peace, justice, and hope.
