Syria: Serving God and people among war and hardship - Vatican News

In Damascus, Sr. Judita is known as the sister who runs the French Hospital, a Catholic hospital she and her community manage. She has served in Syria for the past four years. Her mission is to keep it financially sustainable and faithful to serving the poor.
Despite war and hardship, the hospital remains a place of hope. After a bombing at an Orthodox church, most of the injured were brought to the hospital, and about eighty percent were treated. Moments of joy remain: a baby girl born prematurely on the feast of Saint Michael is now a healthy two-year-old. These moments, Sr. Judita says, remind her community why they continue.
