WITH JESUS DURING THE DAY
Water, Our Sister
This afternoon, I fall silent to synchronize my heart with the Heart of Jesus and to take these words to heart:
“‘Water, Our Sister,’ as St. Francis of Assisi called her, is being plundered and transformed into a ‘commodity governed by market laws.’” Pope Francis
With faith, I ask for the grace to feel sorrow for the dynamics of a world driven by the pursuit of wealth and the ruthless exploitation of natural resources—a reality in which I am immersed and of which I am a part, even if I do not intend to be. I ask for forgiveness for our societal sins and the culture of death.
I choose life and pray the monthly intention, so that we may remember that water is a universal gift that all creatures drink from and depend on.
