WITH JESUS IN THE MORNING
The Center of My Life
As I do every morning, today I thank you for this new day you have given me, and I prepare myself to listen to your voice that illuminates my life.
Just as you were praying alone and your disciples were with you, at this moment I, too, sit by your side and welcome the question you ask us: “And you, who do you say that I am?” Peter steps forward and answers, “You are the Messiah, the Lord.” What do I answer him from the depths of my heart, acknowledging the relationship I’ve had with him? I speak to him honestly, just as one friend speaks to another.
I conclude my encounter with Jesus by asking him for the grace to bear witness today to my relationship with him, especially in caring for the gift of water—this month’s prayer intention.
