The Order of the Most Holy Trinity and of the Captives is celebrating 100 years of missionary presence in Madagascar. The first five Trinitarian missionaries departed Rome on June 4, 1926, and settled in Miarinarivo. Their ministry strengthened the local Church, fostered vocations, and carried the Gospel to remote communities. Today the Trinitarians serve in twelve of Madagascar’s twenty-two dioceses, with five Trinitarian bishops from the Malagasy Church. The centenary renews the Trinitarian commitment to bring hope, freedom, and mercy to the new frontiers of today’s world.
