The official theme song for World Youth Day 2027 in Seoul has been announced one year before young Catholics gather there from August 3 to 8. Titled Confidite, Ego Vici Mundum, the hymn takes up the WYD 2027 theme from John's Gospel: Take courage! I have overcome the world. Sung in several languages, the song is composed by Korean musician Francis Jiyoon Kim and blends local traditional instruments with a contemporary arrangement. It came from an open contest that drew 434 submissions, including 294 from abroad. As the international gathering approaches, the melody invites pilgrims into communion and prepares them for the event.
