Around 200 participants gathered in Nairobi, Kenya, for the first Catholic Sisters in the Legal Profession Network Conference. Canon lawyers, civil lawyers, major superiors, safeguarding professionals, researchers, and other Church leaders reflected on the theme Prophetic Witness: Safeguarding as an Expression of the Gospel. In her keynote address, Sr. Jane Wakahiu called the conference a sign of hope and a shared commitment to strengthening religious life in Africa. She described safeguarding as a Gospel imperative flowing directly from Christ's command to love one's neighbour, and challenged religious institutes and ecclesial communities to examine assumptions and practices that diminish the dignity of women, children, and vulnerable adults.
