Pope Leo XIV will make his Apostolic Journey to Peru from 11 to 17 November, visiting Lima, Chiclayo, Cusco and Pucallpa. Cardinal Carlos Castillo, Archbishop of Lima, told Vatican News that the Peruvian people await the Pope with great joy, welcoming him as a true friend of the entire population.

The Cardinal highlighted the Pope's special bond with Chiclayo and noted that the visit comes at a complex moment marked by insecurity, contract killings, extortion and other difficulties affecting the most vulnerable. The Pope's presence can help Peru reflect and renew its commitment to life, justice and solidarity. Preparations are underway in all four cities.
