The new SIGNIS World executive has welcomed Dr Paolo Ruffini's challenge to prioritise human relationships and build alliances and networks. Speaking in Kigali, Rwanda, during the SIGNIS World Congress, Ruffini urged Catholic communicators to foster trust and genuine human relationships, showing that another way of communicating is possible. Fr Walter Chikwendu Ihejirika, elected president last Friday, 7 August 2026, assured delegates the new team would work for inclusion, participation, and network-building. The congress gathered 300 Catholic communication professionals from over 40 countries.
