The Catholic Church in Uganda has intensified its response to the worsening food crisis in Karamoja. Lira Diocese is mobilising food assistance for vulnerable families after a prolonged drought destroyed crops between April and July.
The campaign, coordinated by Caritas Lira Diocese, encourages Christians to donate food items such as maize flour and beans. Bishop Dominic Eibu of Kotido Diocese said the situation remains critical, with many families still not reached. The Uganda Episcopal Conference has called on all dioceses to organise relief efforts.
