Bishop Valentine Kalumba of Zambia's Livingstone Diocese urged Zambians to embrace peaceful coexistence after the presidential and parliamentary elections. Speaking to Vatican News, he said elections have become moments of tension and anxiety, but voting should be a celebration of citizens exercising their fundamental rights.

He appealed to social media users not to fan ethnic division and called for a return to the Gospel meaning of leadership, where leadership is service. The bishop also ordained three priests and asked the faithful to support and pray for priests.
