WITH JESUS IN THE MORNING
I want mercy
Father, as I wake up, I realize that You give me this day as a gift of love, so that I may live it with gratitude.
Today the Church celebrates the memorial of Saint Matthew. I contemplate Jesus’ gaze: How did He look at Matthew? How does He look at me? I remain in His presence.
Trusting in Your infinite mercy, I entrust my life to You and believe in Your word when You say: ‘It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick… I desire mercy, not sacrifice’ (Mt 9:9, 13).
As I contemplate your creative work, what act of mercy can I perform with the gift of water?
