Sisters work to restore the dignity of female victims of exploitation - Vatican News

Sarah Davis · · News about the Church
For three decades, the Missionaries of Mary Queen of Heaven have rescued and rehabilitated women and girls affected by sex trafficking, prostitution, and child abuse in the Philippines. Founded in 1996 in the Archdiocese of Cebu, they offer shelter, counseling, education, and vocational training to help survivors rebuild their lives and restore their dignity.

Through the House of Love and My Bonita Girls’ Home, survivors receive rehabilitation and support, and Archbishop Alberto S. Uy of Cebu said the ministry is a work that gives life. Many women have already been reintegrated into society.

The sisters help vulnerable communities prevent exploitation by addressing poverty and protecting young people from illegal recruiters.
