Catholic Sisters Take the Lead in Telling Their Own Stories - Vatican News

On the sidelines of the SIGNIS World Congress in Kigali, Rwanda, Sr. Jane Wakahiu spoke with Vatican News about Catholic sisters telling their own stories. For generations, she said, others have often narrated sisters' experiences, yet sisters themselves are best positioned to describe their work among rural communities, inner cities and people on the margins. She highlighted the Pentecost Project, supported through a partnership with the Vatican Dicastery for Communication, which publishes weekly stories on Vatican News in 10 languages. These stories, she said, are a form of evangelization, showing sisters alongside people in daily life, offering compassion, love, faith and hope while living out the mission of the Church.
