At the FABC Plenary Assembly in Jakarta, Archbishop Budi Kleden reflected on the Church's mission in Asia, where Catholics live as a small minority. Rather than a reason for discouragement, he called this a particular grace and an opportunity to witness humbly.

The Churches of Asia, he said, contribute to the universal Church by whispering the Gospel. He outlined four conversions for synodal leadership: listening, interculturality, Eucharistic spirituality, and gratitude.

Underlying his vision is Missio Dei: mission belongs first to God. The future of the Church means walking together and sharing responsibility. His message urged Catholics to take courage to be bridges and bridge-builders, as Jesus has done for us.
