The Lord's Day Reflection: Take Courage. Do Not Be Afraid! - Vatican News

Emily Johnson · · News about the Church
As the Church marks the XIX Sunday in Ordinary Time, Fr. Luke Gregory, OFM, reflects on the gospel scene of Jesus walking on the water. The disciples brave the wind and waves through the night, and Peter steps out in faith, only to sink when fear takes hold.

In that moment, Jesus reaches out and catches him, gently questioning his doubt. The journey from terror to trust leads the disciples to proclaim Jesus as the Son of God. Their story speaks to every heart facing its own storm, inviting us to take courage and believe that Jesus is near, ready to guide us through fear into peace.
